In Memory Of My Oldest Son Eddie Lee

Dearest Eddie Lee,
I thought of you today, but that is nothing new, I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have left now are my memories and pictures of you that are placed inside their frames.
August 26, 1965 - September 25, 2008

Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. GOD has you in his Loving and Caring arms, and I have you forever deep within my heart.

You are one of GOD's Special ANGELS that has been called HOME.

Your Mom, Dad, Michele, Jamie and Daniel misses you and loves you so very much Eddie Lee.

I'm Back!!

Good Afternoon~

Sorry I have been gone a few weeks but... I've been out visiting with my daughter Michele in Tucson, Arizona for the past 3 weeks! I didn't have time to share with you on here, as the time just flew by, both before I left to go there and then once I was there. Let me explain.. first of all Michele drove here from Arizona to pick up a small u haul trailer here in Oklahoma and then to get all of her items out of her storage unit here and take them back to Arizona to put them in her storage there. So... she was only here for two nights and then on Friday the 19th of August we all decided that Mom would travel back along with her in her vehicle. So... that's what we did. I had a wonderful trip out to Tucson and also a really wonderful trip back home on Soutwest Airlines. The time with Michele in Tucson just flew by. She had to work weekends at the hospital, and then was off during the week, which made it so nice. It usually takes a couple of days to recoup from working 3 - 12hr. shifts over one's weekend. Just thinking about doing it made me tired.
Michele & her friend Maggie took me to the Saguaro National Park. It was very beautiful! I really enjoyed seeing the Saguaro's and all the different kinds of catci. I really love the Barrel catci and the Hedgehog catci. The Desert Marigold is very pretty also. The Mesquite tree was quite unique to see also. I was telling Michele that I might have her go to that one Mall that we went to and order me some arrangement with different catci's in it. I'd love to have something like that, especially if they don't need to be watered every day! They ought to last me a real long time!

Saguaro

Christmas Mistletoe

Barrel Catci
I really enjoyed Tuscon. Didn't see any green lawns anyplace... I told Michele that Dad would love to live there as he'd have no lawn work to do on his weekend's off! We could really make family outing plans then!!

Michele also took the time to show and teach me about how to go about cutting, sorting & putting in my binder the coupons out of the Sunday newspaper & other items that has coupons in them, and using the coupons at the grocery stores and Walgreen's, CVS, Target, Wal Mart just to name a few places. She has definately made a believer in me of using them!! Who said one can't teach an oldish person new tricks? Michele proved them wrong! I've got a ways to go on all that I need to learn, but, I sure am enjoying learning how to save a few dollars at all these places. I told her better to have those few extra monies in my pocket instead of theirs.

You all have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by and visiting with me. Sorry I've been gone so long... but, I'm back now!!

Blessings,
~Lynn

~Not Looking Forward To Weigh In Today!~

Good Morning.
Today is my WW's weigh in day!

I have been soooo bad and haven't been paying any attention to my diet lately. Then I wonder why I haven't lost any weight! What a dufuss I am!! Starting TODAY, I plan on getting back on schedule. I have to, no questions at all about that!

Hope you all have been doing good. I've been trying to stay cool with all this hot weather we've been having and still are to have in the up coming days. I don't ever recall it being so hot here for so long of a time. Our high might get up to 107 today.. and that's without the heat index factor. The rest of this week is supposed to be in the 3 digits... Oh my.. sooo hot!! I thank GOD for the air conditioning that we have in our homes, cars, stores, etc. I don't think I could make it without, that's for sure!

~ZOE~

~SHELBA~
Our puppy dogs have been enjoying being inside our home and out of the hot weather. They do get spoiled  by Ma every now and then.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day! ♥

Blessings,
~Lynn

Good Evening... How are you doing? Hope your day was a good one. Mine was a good one. I've been working on our master bedroom. Just got our black sheers up this evening. I think I'm going to like the way they look at the windows. What do you think? I have some pretty black sheer valances that are backordered  from JC Penney's and are to be in on or before Aug. 25th. I think once I get them up over the white/black sheers that it will make the window look really nice.

I am really liking our new bedroom outfit. I still have alot of items to go through and decide on what I want to put in the last 3 drawers in the mirrored dresser. Sometime down the road we might need to get a chest of drawers. We will have to see how it goes. I have our master closet to go through. Maybe once I get through everything in there, we could place a chest of drawers inside our walk in closet. Right now, there isn't room for much of anything in there. It's a real mess, I'm ashamed to say. It ends up being a catch all for this item and for that item, and before one knows, it's a really big mess, but it needs to be done and gone through, and I know that I'll feel so much better once it is, that's for sure! Have you ever felt that way about your closets too? Please tell me that I'm not the only one out there who has a messy ol master closet!

You all have a great evening, and hope that you all are doing well! Take care and thank you so much for stopping by and visiting.

Blessings,
~Lynn

Hey, Hey, What's That Sound??

Hi Everyone! I have just spent about an hour or so just sitting outside on my wicker loveseat on our front porch. I was just listening to all the birds and different sounds out there. Soooo very relaxing for me to just settle back and close my eyes and take it all in! Have I mentioned on my blog lately how much I love my front porch and wicker furniture? Well, I most certainly do, that's for sure! Thank you for them Hubby!
~I sure could use a pedi that's for sure!~

~Kitty Kat is keeping me company too before it gets to be too hot out~

~The wetness on the sidewalk is left there from me watering our flowers.~

~Kitty Kat looks sooo comfortable lying there in the shade~

~Our yard is in dire need of a good rain!~

~Our wicker set on our front porch~
Oh my, it is 94* out side now, and we are suppose to get up to 101* today, with a heat index of 105*. and then be in the 3 digit's for the rest of the week. Sooo hot!! I love the summer warm weather, but this heat is kind of too hot for my liking! I've never seen it so hot here in all the years we've lived here! Thank goodness for our air conditioning! We did have our electric go out a couple days ago for about an hour or so. Needless to say I was sooo happy when it came back on! So were my neighbors!

Hope you all are doing good and surviving the hot weather if you're having some of it too!

Thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving me such kind comments.

Blessings,
~Lynn

Our New Bedroom Outfit and New Storm Door Pictures

The storm door from outside..

Our New Queen Sized Bed and new lamps

Our new dresser and mirror

The two guys came around 3pm to deliver and put together our bedroom outfit.. It didn't even take the guys an hour to get everything put together and arranged the way I wanted. I really love the look of  our bedroom set! I think my Hubby and I done a real good job when it came to picking out our storm door and bedroom outfit. My Hubby really should get the credit for finding this outfit, as I was looking over the bedroom outfit that I thought we were going to buy, that is, until Dan came back from checking out other outfits, and said I found one you ought to check out. Oh my, I fell in love with it the moment I laid eyes on it! It has the fleur de lis that I really love and also the flower medallion on it too that we also have in our area rug in our livingroom and in a picture hanging I have on our livingroom wall. I am just so excited,  as this is fhe first time in our married life that we have owned a completely matching bedroom set of our own. I had owned a bedroom set when we first  got married, but it wasn't one that we picked out for our own home together.
I hope you enjoy seeing my new items too!

We are having 104 degree weather out there today! Soooo hot!! I like warm, sunny weather, but this is way too warm for my liking! I think I heard the weather people saying that we are going to be in the 3 digit temperatures all next week too!  Maybe our next purchase ought to be a swimming pool in our back yard! In all reality, I would love to have one, as I've always wanted one ever since I was in junior high school.

You all have a wonderful weekend! Stay cool if you are having really warm temperatures your way too! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and for leaving me such sweet comments. I love hearing from you! ♥  Take care and God Bless!

Blessings,
~Lynn

Great News!

Hello my dear family and friends. So sorry that I haven't posted more on my blog lately, but my Hubby and I have been real busy trying to get everything out of our masterbedroom so that we will have enough room for our NEW bedroom set to arrive. What a job!! Got a phone call today and Matt from Bob Mills says our complete bedroom set is there and that they can deliver it on Friday! WooHoo!! I am sooo excited!  We are getting the queen sized bed, two night stands, mirror and dresser and then the media center table. Then on Friday, our NEW storm door is to be installed on our front door! It is black vinyl with a bronze shaped oval in the middle of the storm door. Again, I am sooo excited! This will be the first bedroom set that my Hubby and I have owned that all match! I will share pictures with you once it all gets here and I get everything back in order.

Hope you all have had a great Tuesday! We got some much needed rain today! We made an all time record for rain amount on today's date. Really pretty neat!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening!

Blessings,
~Lynn

~Our Front Porch~

Good Afternoon.. Been so busy with the garage organization and with getting our bedroom ready for some new bedroom furniture that is to come around the 14th of July. The company has been having some problem with their mfg. and that is why it is taking them so long. I've been waiting since the beginning of June.. and needless to say, I am pretty anxious to have it delivered..

Here are some front porch pictures I wanted to share with you all since it's been quite a while since I've shared pictures with you all..

~I really like our wicker furniture~

~It's 102 * out with a heat index of 104*~  Whew!! Hot!!

~I like this view of our porch too from the main entrance street~

~The new wind chimes my hubby got for me~

Have a wonderful rest of the day! Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me!

Bad Hair Days, Pouty Faces & More...

Good Morning~
I hope this finds you all doing well! I am so sorry that it has been some time since I've written on my blog, but my husband and I have been real busy with going through all our items that are inside the garage and trying to find extra space in there! Oh my goodness, what a job, but.... Thankfully, I can say that....We're almost there! Maybe some of you have an idea as to how stressful doing a job as such can be and how it can get on one's nerves, and can cause one to have a few pouty faces too... that is,.till it's done! Even causes one to have alot of... Bad Hair Days too! There may have been a couple days where mine didn't get fixed the way I normally fix it... but, that's okay.. Hubby didn't seem to notice it looking too bad anyhow. Ha! Probably cause he didn't take the time to look over there at me, while I was sweating, and working ever soooo hard! We have been having really hot temps both outside and inside the garage for real though! Three digit temps at both places!  ;-)   (My husband just came in from the garage and said maybe he got too carried away with his throwing of items out, as now, he can't find our Kitty Kat's pooper scooper anywhere out there.... )  He wouldn't have thrown that out now, or....would he????  We might have to make a special trip to Super Wal Mart's today...

I'm not able to share a picture of the comforter set that I purchased from JC Penney's today, but will try to share the link with you..http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=STY&ItemID=1a71e42&submit search.y=8&Ntt=Artisan+10+pc.+comforter+set&SearchString=Artisan+10+pc.+comforter+set&Ne=840+4+877+878+5+961+6+29+3+598+11+15+12+506+10+23+585+596+963+579+1031+8+1022+1014+586+1007+879+1027+18+904+903+969+833+949&hdnOnGo=true&NOffset=0&submit search.x=14&Nao=0&N=4294959029&SO=0&PSO=0&CmCatId=searchresults

You will need to highlight the complete link, click on copy, then click on paste and add it to your search gizzmo and then hit enter.. then penney's link of the bedding should appear and you ought to be able to see the bedding.

Hopefully, it will work so you'll be able to see it. I am liking the look of black/brown and find myself using it in some of my decorating lately. Please let me know if you like it.. I really do like the colors and the flowers on it.

I am so happy that Annie & Jade's baby girl, Ollie Faith is doing so well after having her heart surgery. She's such a lil sweetheart, as are her siblings, Everett and Aubrie. Let's keep Ollie Faith, Annie & Jade and their family all in our prayers.  God is sooo good!

Here it is Friday and the weekend upon us once again! Where does the time go? It does seem like the days go by sooo fast anymore! It is hard keeping up with them sometimes! You all have a wonderful day, and fantastic weekend too! Have fun and enjoy!

Blessings!

I Can Relate, Can You??

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oHBG3ABUJU&feature=player_embedded

Good Morning!
I came across this on my Facebook page this morning and thought I'd share it with you all. I sure can relate, and my husband says that he can too! No wonder I'm, (we're) so tired by the end of my (our) day!

I hope you are having a great weekend! We have been working on going through items out in our garage. What a job!! We still have a loooong way to go!

~Shelba~

~Zoey~
We are supposed to get up to 103 degrees today! We made a record high yesterday with 103 degrees, at least that's what I think was what the weatherman said. I was only listening with one ear on the news and one ear on listening to my grown puppy dogs with whom I brought inside from being out in the hot heat outside. Needless to say, Shelba and Zoey love being inside almost as much as they do being outside, and sometimes I think even more!

You all have a great weekend! Stay coooooooool!!  Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me and for leaving me such sweet comments!

~Flag Day~

Good Morning...
My friend Kath, whose blog is http://weepingcedarhollow.blogspot.com/ shared this on FaceBook this morning, and I thought I'd share it with you, my friends and family who come here to visit my blog..   Have a wonderful day today on Flag Day!

by Howard Schnauber

I am the flag of the United States of America.
My name is Old Glory.
I fly atop the world's tallest buildings.
I stand watch in America's halls of justice.
I fly majestically over great institutes of learning.
I stand guard with the greatest military power in the world.
Look up! And see me!

I stand for peace - honor - truth and justice.
I stand for freedom
I am confident - I am arrogant
I am proud.

When I am flown with my fellow banners
My head is a little higher
My colors a little truer.
I bow to no one.
I am recognized all over the world.
I am worshipped - I am saluted - I am respected
I am revered - I am loved, and I am feared.

I have fought every battle of every war for more than 200 years:
Gettysburg, Shilo, Appomatox, San Juan Hill, the trenches of France,
the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome, the beaches of Normandy,
the deserts of Africa, the cane fields of the Philippines,
the rice paddies and jungles of Guam, Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Vietnam,
Guadalcanal New Britain, Peleliu, and many more islands.
And a score of places long forgotten by all but those who were with me.

I was there.
I led my soldiers - I followed them.
I watched over them.
They loved me.
I was on a small hill in Iwo Jima.
I was dirty, battle-worn and tired, but my soldiers cheered me,
and I was proud.

I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of
countries I have helped set free.
It does not hurt, for I am invincible.
I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of my OWN country,
and when it is by those with whom I have served in battle - it hurts.
But I shall overcome - for I am strong.

I have slipped the bonds of Earth and stand watch over the
uncharted new frontiers of space
from my vantage point on the moon.
I have been a silent witness to all of America's finest hours.
But my finest hour comes when I am torn into strips to
be used for bandages for my wounded comrades on the field of battle,
When I fly at half mast to honor my soldiers,
And when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving
mother at the graveside of her fallen son.
I am proud.
My name is Old Glory.
Dear God - Long may I wave.

Blessings,
~Lynn

Cute!!

Good Morning! Gosh, here it is Friday once again! Not complaining by any means! My friend shared this with me and I thought that I'd share it with you all on my blog.. Enjoy! I'm sure it will make your day!
This story kind of reminded me of myself in a round about way. Yesterday, our youngest son, Daniel was flying in at TAFB from Hawaii,  and I was to pick him up on base. Well, I am always afraid of getting lost if I'm not sure where I'm going. Anyhow, I thought I'd pass some time by going and getting my nails done. That went great, and was so relaxing to me! Then, I thought I'd go over to Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick up a couple items, which I did, and put them inside my parked car trunk. Then I thought that I'd look around in at Penney's and then check out Ross afterwards and then stop over at Braum's on my way home. Well, like I mentioned, I put my items into my parked car trunk and then I walked to Penney's and found a few items I wanted and when I went to pay for them, I couldn't find my debit card where I normally put it after using or anywhere inside of my purse. I called Bed, Bath & Beyond and she said she had it there. So... I walked back over to their store and got my card, and then thought to myself that I'd just drive my car over to Penney's instead of walking back over there again. Well, lo and behold, I couldn't find my car! I looked and walked all over the parking lots while looking at each of the cars parked. Finally, I found my car parked right where I left it, in between BB& Beyond and Ross, so I wouldn't foget where it was! Honest to pete!! So anyhow, I drove up to Penny's and paid for my items and decided NOT to go to Ross at this time, as I was too pooped to do anymore kind of walking whatsoever! These stores are all in a medium sized plaza..so, they aren't all that far apart from each other, but far enough when you're walking from one end of the plaza stores to the other end! So anyhow, I went home and waited till it was time to pick my son up at TAFB.. Made it there to pick Daniel up okay, which I was kinda, sorta thinking I'd be ok finding the gate where he wanted me to pick him up at, but wasn't 100% sure.. After not being able to find my parked car, I was definately a tad bit doubtful of myelf! But anyhow, I was very glad when I read that I'm not the only one who sometimes misplaces their parked car in the shopping parking lots!
My 2002 Toyota Corolla doesn't have any way of letting me know where she's at like my 2000 Mustang does.. It can beep its horn to let me know where she's at! Our next family car will definately have that feature on it, especially for my use, & especially when I have my *so called* Senior Moments such as I did yesterday!

~Wasn't quite this bad..BUT ALMOST!!~

Hope you all have a very wonderful, fun and safe weekend! Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I love reading the sweet comments you write to me! ♥♥

~Happiness is...~

Good Morning~

Remember, sometimes we might not be able to control how our day goes, but that doesn't mean we can't turn someone else's day around!

“You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By sharing a few kind words with someone who may be lonely or discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.”

Just wanted to share some kind words and happiness pictures with you all, my friends...
