Hi Everyone!
Oh my goodness, it sure is hard to believe that the weekend is here once again, and... we're supposed to have gorgeous weather too! Wish I knew for sure that my hubby would have this weekend off from his workplace, as I'd make us some fun plans to do in a second!! With his work, one just can't really make any plans at all.. that is, unless he's using some vacation time.. Which he's really due to be having soon!! I can always tell his telltale signs..and he's been sporting them all lately!! ;)
Many years ago we use to have a camper on the plan of the one I shared a picture of.. I'd say at least 38 years ago or so.. We had so much fun and I always had the camper packed and ready so that when my (ex) husband would get home from work, that all we had to do was put the cold food in the camper and take off to our camping destination! I always enjoyed camping out, and especially sitting on my webbed aluminum lawn chair, with my white camping sneakers on (which sported rubber sole melting areas on them) and resting my legs on the round brick campfire pit, and getting mesmerized by all of the flickering, flaming fire and its embers! Talk about relaxing!! Well that is until the wild animals would stop by, like skunks, raccoons, deer, and yes, even bears.. Oh could I tell you lots of stories.. but, I'll save them for another time to write about on my blog!
Alright, I'll share just this one quick story! One night we all were sitting around that round campfire when my sister in law says.. "don't move Lynn", and I said, "why not"? Judy said, "because there's a skunk right underneath your lawn chair"!.. You never seen anyone sit anymore still than what I did!! Thankfully the skunk walked out from underneath my lawn chair, walked around the campfire and then headed on down to the next campsite.. after he was a ways away from our campsite, our guys yelled down to let them know a skunk was heading down their way.. It seems to me that no one was at that campsite, and the skunk got in their tent and ate the food they had placed inside.. We all know, you don't put/store any kind of food inside your tent, unless you want some little animals to visit you and eat them up! We always stored our food items inside our car.. Bears have been known to tear apart a cooler left out in no time flat! And that's a metal cooler I'm speaking about!
Our Kitty Kat still loves us! He just purrs and purrs when we pet him.. He's a hoot! I thought after his bath yesterday that he'd end up disowning us.. but he hasn't! He's a happy Kitty cat once again!
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend too! Have fun and enjoy!
Blessings,
~Lynn
