~Not As Bad As I Had Thought It'd Be~

Hello! Well today I went to my Weight Watcher's meeting... and I did gain 4 1/2 pounds while I was on vacation, but, I am now back on track, starting today and hopefully will be on the losing end of my weight loss regimen again.. I didn't gain as much weight as I thought I would though, which was really great! I left my meeting today, feeling not so guilty about my weight gain! I even walked back to my car with a bounce in my step...  I feel great!!  I think I done good for being off my weight watcher's for about a little over a month! But, I must say it seems really great to be back on track once again with my Weight Watcher's way of life eating too! I enjoyed all and everything that I had to eat while on vacation, no doubt about that whatsoever!! It all tasted sooo delish!!  A great BIG "Thank You" to all the great cooks who cooked for me! I highly enjoyed every single bite!!

~GOOD MONDAY AFTERNOON!~

Good Monday afternoon to you! I hope you had a nice weekend. Dan and I didn't do much of anything on Saturday. We went to Church on Sunday, and then we went to Dong A for lunch with Daniel and his friend Tim.. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi... Everything was real good as always!

Here it is the last week of September already! These months and days are just totally flying by! Tomorrow I've got to go to Weight Watcher's, as I haven't been there all month, and Lord really knows that I want to still keep my Lifetime membership there, as I have some needed pounds that I'd like to come off!!

Sunday, Dan and I went shopping at JC Penny's and got in on alot of good deals! I found some real neat looking placemats that I now have on my table.. I also found a real pretty white plate with a leaf etching that I used to place some fall gourds in.. I found a few pretty summer tops too!!

Here is a closeup picture of one of the placemats.. 

The placemats are like daisy designed and interconnected..The place mats are made out of wood pieces..  Real pretty! Just something new and different for me to look at and enjoy...

~Happy Hump Day!~

Here it is Wednesday already! The days are flying by so it seems!  My goodness, the weekend will be here before we know!

Today I'm doing laundry... and I've got to go get my flu shot around 3pm today.. I got one last year and it really did seem to help.. I'm not sure if my Hubby is going to get his today with me or not. I'll have to wait and see.

I went to my cardiologist this past Monday, and he says that I'm doing well.. Thank Goodness!! I feel great! He'd like to see me again in 6 months.. He wasn't real happy with my weight gain... as neither am I.. but, that's okay.. I am planning on taking all my extra weight off that I've gained back on me... Hopefully!

I didn't make it to my weight watcher's meeting yesterday... I'll just go next Tuesday, since I only need to go once a month now anyhow..since I'm a Lifetime member with them..

Not much else going on... The sun is shining outside so pretty... and we are to get in the low 90's today.. It's still like summertime here! The leaves on my Bradford Pear tree are turning their fall colors though.. I'll have to take a picture and share it with you... It is looking real pretty! I always have loved the fall season with all the gorgeous fall colors that are outside! I remember always looking forward to fall, especially when I lived back in Pennsylvania.. the fall colors there were absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking to see!!

My Blogging Friends & Family, I'm Back Home From My Three Week Vacation In California!

Hello Everyone!
I had a wonderful vacation and time with my two adult kids who live in California! I had three great weeks of being with them and seeing and doing so many neat things together! Gosh, let me see, we went to see the Willie Wonka play in Carmel, Ca., we went to Capitola Beach and ate at a fantastic restaurant near the beach, Beverly and I went to Monterey Beach and ate at Bubba Gump's and shopped all the fantastic shops around there, went to Karaoke at Charles home, which was such a fun time and we also went to Karaoke in San Jose. We went to visit Jamie's High School for the day, which was awesome watching him being a High School Principal in action! Jamie and I also went to visit the Middle School where he was Principal last year and I saw the beautiful Garden Memorial for Larry Newman that Jamie had made in Larry's memory.. We went to the movie to see Eat, Love & Pray, went to visit with my daughter's and my friend Amy, went to Cohn- Stone Studios in Richmond, Ca, to a blown glass factory which was very awesome to see how they make all the beautiful glass wares! Everything was sooo beautiful in their shop!! We also visited Jack London Square, which has his log cabin home on its site, which was brought from Yukon. We also visited an antique bar called Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon that was in the Eathquake and the bar itself is slanted from the after effects of the earthquake and they left the bar in the same condition as it ended up having after the earthquake. It had alot of membrabrila for one to check out.. We went to Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz which was pretty neat to see! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to walk up to the house that was built there or not.., but I did! Thank goodness for the hand railing for one to hold on to that's for sure! We went to see ~Meatloaf ~who performed at the Silver Legacy Cassino in Oakland.. He did put on a great show! We went to a fantastic BBQ pork rib cookoff in Oakland, which smelled and tasted delish! We went to a few great restaurants too which served fantastic tasting food! Michele and Jamie also had real delishious food that they served at their homes too! Sooo very good!! As you read, I had one fantastic time with Michele and Jamie and all their friends!! "Thank you" so much Jamie and Michele, and each one of your friends for the really fun and wonderful time that you all gave me!! Your Mom enjoyed everything sooo very much!! I will treasure these new memories that we've made forever!!

The flight back home went well.. I left San Jose airport at 11am, then went to LA airport and then went to our airport.. I had one full day.. The plane rides were good, and there was just a little bit of turbulance on the last flight, which wasn't bad really.. I got home around 9:15pm..

I've had a bit of jet lag these past few days... I'm doing much better today! Got to, as today I go to my cardiologist for my appointment at 2:45pm.. I feel great, and hope that he agrees with me on that one! He's probably going to be disappointed in me for gaining a few extra pounds since I last saw him, but, that's okay, I can get myself back on track, as I plan on going to my Weight Watcher meeting starting again tomorrow!

While I was away, my youngest son Daniel and my Hubby got me a 23.6" wide screened monitor, which they said was my birthday present, that was late.. which is soooo very awesome indeed!! I love it!! My other monitor was a 15", so this one really looks huge to me!! I'm so excited and  tickled!! Thank you both so much!!  I can't express enough what a wonderful and loving family I have!! Thank You Dear Lord Jesus for giving them all to me!!

My Thoughts~

Hi Everone!
I just wanted to stop by and say hi and to let you all know that I am having a really great time visiting and spending time with Michele and Jamie out here in California! They are spoiling me big time!

Today, my thoughts have centered mainly on my oldest son, Eddie Lee. Today would have been his 45th birthday. It will be 2 years next month that he passed away..  I love and miss him so very much!! Eddie Lee may have left this world, but he will always remain in my heart and memories! I also know and believe with all my heart, that we will see each other again in Heaven!

I hope that each and everyone of you are doing well.. I will try to stop in here to check in with you all once in awhile..

The other day Jamie was showing me another way to  post my pictures, and shared his Rotary President picture on my blog, which I told him could stay.. I don't mind at all..

~ California Here I Come!!~

Good Morning!
I am sooo excited!! I am going to California to visit and stay with each of my two older kids, Michele and Jamie..  They have been wanting me to come out and visit them, being that they both are living in California right now, sooo... I listened!! I leave next week!!  Michele said that we'll be able to check out a couple tourist spots while I'm staying with her, and Jamie said he'd take me to his workplace at his school so I can see his office and all, plus maybe check out a couple winery's too! Oh yes... we plan on doing lots and lots of shopping too!! We all love to shop!! I always have a great time when I'm with each one of my kids!

Today is supposed to be real hot again! 101*... We need rain sooo bad out our way! We water our yards often, but the rain sure would be so welcomed!

Please keep Penny in your prayers... She is needing to have surgery.. but her dr's are still not sure when it will happen.. It was supposed to be done yesterday, but they still are deciding when it will be.. as of yesterday..

~MY GOOD WILL FIND YESTERDAY!!

I just happened to stop by GW and lo and behold I came across these gorgeous dishes! I got 4 cups,  6 salad plates, and 6 dinner plates, and 8 cereal bowls.. Not so bad for only $9.99!! I really love them!!

I love the colors and design on them real well!! I know some on the same plan of them have caught my eye before while I was out and about shopping!

Thank you all for the wonderful Birthday Wishes!! You all are so sweet and kind!! I really had a very nice birthday!!  My hubby wanted to get me a birthday cake, and I asked him please not to, as I only wanted to be a *little bit bad on my ww diet.. sooo, we decided to stop at Braum's and get us a creamy yogurt soft serve ice cream cone, which is both of our favorites! I don't know how many points it added up to be for sure, but... I felt like I really wanted to have either a Birthday Cake or some Birthday Ice Cream, and the ice cream won!! It tasted sooo good, as it was sooo very hot outside!! I know I made the right decision on that one!

~TODAY'S MY BIRTHDAY!~

Good Morning!
I  have always been one who really looks forward to each one of their BIRTHDAYS, including the one I'm having today! I don't ever let the "age number" drag me down.. cause I live by the 'ole saying, you're only as old as you feel.. Now, there have been those days where I've felt like I was 100 years old, and then other days when I feel like I'm in my 20's.. Just all depends on the day and how I'm feeling! I feel pretty good today so far, which is great!

Yesterday, My husband Dan and our youngest son Daniel and I  went out for my birthday luncheon at Sante Fe Steak House.. Mmmm, the food was sooo good!!  I didn't save any room left  for having any desert.. but, later on during the day Dan and I went to Braum's and picked up a few items plus... we splurged on our ww diets and got each of us one of their  soft serve yogurt ice cream cones.. Oh my goodness, how good that was too!!

Today, Dan and Daniel want to take me out for supper after they get home from each of their jobs...for us to celebrate together on the day of my birthday too..  That is so sweet!!

Our middle son called me on his way to work this morning to wish me a Happy Birthday too... That was so sweet too!!  My daughter Michele will be calling me later on today... as right now, it's still pretty early out California way, and I'm quite sure she's probably still asleep! I know I would be if I were out there right now!

 My family treat me like a little Queen all the time really, but, they do it even more on my BIRTHDAY!! They all are sooo caring and sweet!! Thank You So Much For Loving And Caring For Me.... Dan, Daniel, Jamie AND Michele!!  I Love You All So Very Much!!  ♥♥♥♥

~CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO SHARE A PICTURE OF THIS TOO!~

I forgot to share a picture of the beautiful Azalea plant that my Hubby got me for our Anniversary.. We've got to find the exact spot to plant it.. We don't get much shade in either our front or back yards, and these are ~SHADE~ azaleas.. so, we've got to be real sure of where we want them planted..or, they won't make it in our HOT sun we get here!

They are real pretty though, and I feel bad that my hubby didn't know they were for being kept in the shade.. They are a beautiful shade of PINK..

~OH MY GOODNESS!!~

It is now 100* outside! That's not including the heat index factor! WHEW!!

There are many other states and countries who are even hotter than that though!

I think they say we might get some showers on Friday! We sure do need some rain! They're calling for a 30% chance..

Well, I went to my Weight Watcher's Meeting today... and, I gained 2#... I told my leader, Judy, that I was just going to quit eating altogether.. She gave me "the look", that said, you've got lots of food you can eat.. remember, the diamond's that are beside each of the food names in our little weigh in booklet?? Remember, diamonds are a girls best friend! I am going to have to go over them again, and really try to do better. I know that I've been slacking off my diet alot lately.. It's time to get myself back on track!! and... I've started getting back on track TODAY!!

~CHICKEN BERRY SALAD RECIPE~

CHICKEN BERRY SALAD


Ingredients
■1 (.75 ounce) packet honey mustard salad dressing mix
■1/4 cup cider vinegar
■1/2 cup vegetable oil
■2 tablespoons orange juice
■1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
■8 cups mixed salad greens
■1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
■1/2 cup fresh blueberries
■1/2 cup fresh raspberries
■8 ounces sugar snap peas
■1/2 cup toasted pecans
Directions
1.In a medium bowl, prepare the dressing according to package directions, using vinegar and oil, and substituting orange juice for the water; set aside.
2.Preheat the grill for high heat.
3.Lightly oil the grill grate. Grill the chicken 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear. Remove from heat, cool, and slice into strips.
4.In a large bowl, toss together the chicken, salad greens, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peas, and pecans. Pour in the prepared dressing, and toss to coat.

~What An Enjoyable Anniversary Dan & I Had Yesterday!!~

Dan's boss gave him the whole day to spend with me to enjoy our 26th anniversary together on our Anniversary Day. That was so kind! So anyhow, this is what we did for our anniversary! I hope you enjoy all the pictures! Dan and I had a real enjoyable time! We went to the Round Barn in Arcadia, Oklahoma. Found that to be quite interesting! They were making a movie film in the upper section of the barn.. Got to see the big bus and all the people who were in the movie.. Wish I could have peeked inside, but wasn't allowed to.. We've been wanting to check this barn out, but just never made it... that is, till yesterday! Then we stopped at *POPS, which is just down a little ways from the round barn and got us a soda of course! Then we stopped at Robertson's Ham's on our way to McAlester, Oklahoma. Talk about a great tasting ham sandwich!! Dan has stopped there lots of times on his way to or from a job, but this was the first I've ever been there!

Then we stopped at Angel's Diner. Here Dan has stayed in the motel behind the diner and has eaten at their diner.. I found it real awesome looking on the outside, with the jukebox on their front of the diner, and the nice looking Cadillac's out in the front yard! We didn't go inside to eat, as we had planned on stopping at the Isle of Capri, which we did do for our dinner. It was absolutely beautiful inside, and the food was delishious!! I would definately love to go back there someday again! The atmosphere inside was sooo romantic... just perfect for celebrating our anniversary!

We had a wonderful time together and enjoyed all that we saw!! I have loved sharing our ~Special Day~ with you all too!!

~AREN'T THESE HOMES PRETTY!~

~DIRT CAKE RECIPE!~

Good Morning!
I hope you all are having a great weekend! Mine is going real good!

Yesterday I came across this Dirt Cake recipe that I'd like to share with you...

~DIRT CAKE~

1 Large package oreo sandwich cookies
1/3 Cup butter (softened)
1/2 Cup butter (softened)
1 Large (12oz) carton whipped topping
1 8oz. package cream cheese (softened)
1 Cup powdered sugar
2 (3.5 oz. packages) boxes instant
vanilla pudding
3 Cups Milk
1 tsp. vanilla
15 or so Gummi Worms for on top if desired..

Crush half of cookies and combine with 1/3 cup softened butter and put in 9x13 pan.
Mix cream cheese and 1/2 cup softened butter with electric mixer until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar. Fold in whipped topping. In separate bowl, mix pudding, milk and vanilla. Fold in cream cheese mixture and pour into pan on the cookie mixture. Crush remaining cookies and sprinkle on top. Gummi worms can be placed on top of the crushed cookies...Refrigerate. Serves 12-16.
