WHERE THERE'S A WILL...THERE'S A WAY..

Good Tuesday Morning!
I sure hope everyone had a great weekend and 3 day one if you had yesterday off work too! Daniel had yesterday off from his workplace and we spent some time together.. He has a Wii system and he asked me if I'd like to see how it works, and of course I said YES!!" We played tennis, baseball, bowled, and I watched him play boxing, which totally wore me out just watching all the moves he made while playing it! It was alot of fun I must say, trying these games out! I really loved the bowling and tennis games! I have heard some of the people at my weight watcher's meeting mention about the Wii Fit. I don't know what all this game is about, but, it too, sounds like it'd be interesting and really would give one a good work out! I think Daniel ought to have Dad check out the Wii too and see if it'd be something he might be interested in having. Both of us need to have something we'd like to do, that would get us off the couch and get us moving!! You know, other than what taking a walk would do for us, as I know that is real good exercise..

Ayhow, I had a real nice time visiting with Daniel yesterday! I'm hoping we can get together again sometime before Friday, as Friday is when I fly the friendly skies to Arizona to see Michele and Jamie!

I sure am going to keep thinking positive about my saying here that I posted! I sure do have the will, but, I think I've kinda got lost somewhere along the way this past week, as Frito's was my enemy this week! I wish I could just tell myself NO, but no way... I just sit there in my recliner holding the bag and eat them! ( I am sooo not disaplined!) I get sooo mad at myself for being so stupid sometimes! I never, ever thought that watching one's weight would be soo hard for one to do! So, I don't think I'll have any loss of weight today when I go get weighed in, and I sure hope I didn't gain any either! I've got to get back on track, starting again today!!

I hope you enjoy the songs that are playing! These are some of my favorites! I was surprised that I figured out how to post them on my blog all by myself! Now that's a real stepping stone for this lady too! Darn, I just noticed that some of the songs aren't playing all the way like they ought to.. I will have to check on how to fix this later on.. Sorry about that..

Good Monday Morning!

Hello!
It's a beautiful, sunshiny, cold day here today! But, at least the sun is out! It always makes my day go alot better when I look and see the sunshine outside! Are you that way too? I bet alot of us are!

I have several things I want to get done today.. like.. going to Super WalMarts, being I didn't make it there last evening, and then make some bills out, then, get into our mastercloset and see if I can find my suitcase and also what all I want to be taking on my visit to my daughter Michele's.. She sent me an email of what all I need and don't need to be packing.. With the weather in AZ. being different from ours I told her I was uncertain of exactly what all to pack.. I always pack enough for 3 months, or so it seems, when I do go visit with our kids! I like to have my favorite wardrobe right there with me! One just never knows where we'll be going or what we'll be doing.. But, I do need to take a big enough suitcase that will hold all the goodies that Michele and I get on our shopping sprees, and especially when we go to Christopher and Banks! We both love to shop there! Hmmm, decisions, decisions! I'm excited, as if you couldn't already tell!!

I hope you all had a real nice Valentine's Day! I had a real nice one! We went to church and then Daniel, Dan and I went to Jimmy's Egg for lunch.. It was sooo good!! Daniel treated us! That was the first time that I ate in this restaurant.. I loved the atmosphere and the decor that was in there, it was oohh soo very pretty!

My hubby gave me a dozen beautiful roses..pink with darker pink on the tips of them. (My favorites!) I've shared a picture at the top of my blog today of them.. Dan also cut each one of them and placed them into the vase too for me! He done pretty good! ;) Dan also got me a beautiful heart/rose necklace along with earrings, and bracelet to match.. Then he also got me another beautiful pair of earrings.. and also a beautiful Valentine's Day Card! I am so blessed to have such a loving and caring husband, and also to have such loving and caring grown adult children too! They all are so very special to me!! I love each and every one of them so very much!! ♥

** Please keep Nienie in your prayers.. She wrote on her blog that she is back in the hospital because she had some complications going on. She said she's having a big surgery done today..and that she was nervous about it..

♥HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY♥!!

Good Morning!
I  would like to wish everyone a ♥Happy Valentine's Day♥!! I hope it's a very special day for all of you!! 

Gosh, I'm not sure what's on my (our) agenda for today.. I am thinking that I'd like to maybe go see a movie.. I still haven't seen the movie, "The Lovely Bones" yet.. Maybe Dan and I could make plans to go to a movie and then have dinner afterwards.. Now, that sounds like my kind of Saturday! Our son Daniel took us to eat at a Barvarian restaurant where the food tasted soo delish and so authenic!! Brought back memories of all the delishious tasting German food I ate when I lived in Schwetzingen, Germany, not too far from Heidelberg. I was there  for a year and a half, with our daughter Michele. Hmmm,  maybe we could go for dinner there today, & maybe Daniel could go with us too! I'll have to check it out with  my guys!  I always love getting together with our kids each & every chance I can!

Friday's Project! Getting Organized... A Start In The Right Direction Anyhow!

Good Morning!
Oh goodness.... I have been putting off and putting off organizing my pantry, but... today's the day when I take everything out of it and go through and see what is outdated and toss it out. Then, I am going to once again organize it, so that Dan and I will be able to find whatever we are looking for more easily.. I have a real hard time living with it being so disorganized, so, that's going to be my Friday project for today!  It's looong over due, no doubt!! What's your Friday project, if you're doing one? Do any of you have organizing problems like me??

Good Evening! It is now 5:30pm.. I was busy working on organizing these shelves all day! Oh gosh, I sure hope they stay like this for a while!  That was a pretty big job, and I was so glad when it was all done! I think organizing pantry shelves, especially shelf's like mine are a bunch harder than what the actual grocery shopping and bringing all those bags inside the home and putting them away is!

Now, it's time for me to start thinking about supper! I'm soo pooped out right now, that having a pizza delivered sounds sooo wonderful to me, but... I don't want to ruin my diet that I've been so diligently watching over lately either, so.... Onward I go... I think I hear someone in the kitchen calling my name! I bet ya Dan's hungry!!  Catch you later...

~My Recipe For Blueberry Cobbler~

                                                   

1  STICK MARGARINE
1  CUP SUGAR
1  CUP FLOUR
1 & 1/2  teaspoons of BAKING POWDER
3/4  CUP MILK
5  CUPS  OF BLUEBERRIES  ( FRESH OR FROZEN)
3/4  CUP SUGAR


MELT BUTTER IN 9 X 13 INCH PAN. MIX 1 CUP SUGAR, FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND MILK. POUR THIS OVER THE BUTTER. DO NOT STIR! ADD BLUEBERRIES ON TOP OF THIS. ADD REMAINING (3/4) SUGAR) OVER THE BLUEBERRIES.
BAKE 35-40 MINUTES OR UNTIL BROWN ON TOP... IN A 350* DEGREE OVEN~


This recipe is * NOT* very diet friendly at all  :(  but, my Hubby really likes Blueberry Cobbler, so.... every once in awhile we splurge and have this cobbler for dessert.. I haven't checked into making this more of a diet friendly dessert. If anyone could help me to do that, I sure would appreciate! Thanks so much!

Urgent Prayers Needed For Westin..

Please keep Westin, a 5 year old little boy, who has neuroblastoma in your prayers.. This was in Beth's post yesterday..

UPDATE: Westin is now at Children's Hospital in Knoxville, TN, awaiting surgery. He needs stents (stints?) placed in his ureters to allow urine to pass, relieving his kidneys. He has a mass around his aorta. Doctors have shared with the family that there is no more they can do to treat the neuroblastoma. He truly needs a miracle!

Really Could Use Some Of Your Ideas On A Couple Of Things....

Good Morning!
I  would like to start out today, by saying, how very much I appreciate each and every one of you for coming and visiting with me on my blog and for leaving me such kind and thoughtful comments. You all are so very special to me! Thank you all so very much!!

I have been wondering what color I could paint my white corner hutch? Any ideas? I've tossed around the idea of RED so far. My diningroom table and chairs are black.. I am thinking about painting our opened livingroom, diningroom, and kitchen areas a yellow, but not exactly sure what shade yet. Possibly a goldish yellow.. I don't want a real bright yellow I don't think.. but I do want it to be a warm, cozy yellow.. Can anyone share a warm yellow that they have in their rooms? The open areas are now painted a color called Arizona Tan.. which is pretty, but, I'm just ready for a change, as we've had them this color for a couple years or so now..

She is having surgery on Feb. 15th.  Please visit her on her blog that I have on my Great Blogs I Like To Visit sidebar.. which is down a little ways on my page..on the right side.. Thank you so much!

Today I might go and do some grocery shopping and then do up a few loads of laundry.. Nothing real exciting.. That's ok.. we've all got to have days like them sometime in our week too!

We do start going to a new Church Group starting  this evening which I am really looking forward to.. This is the first time Dan and I have been in a group at our new church that we've been attending. We were in a group at our last church and really enjoyed and made alot of wonderful new friends and learned a whole lot.. It was a hard decision to leave that group.. but since we weren't going to our old church anymore, we felt it better to do so.. We all decided that we still can remain  friends even if we don't attend the same church on Sunday.. They are a great bunch of people! I'm sure this new group we'll be attending will have alot of nice people in it also..

Thank you all for giving me the courage and confidence in myself that I really can lose some weight! I've got to share with you all that I did have a 2 lb. loss!! There for a minute I thought Judy (my weight watcher leader) was misreading the scale, but, I really did lose! Now, I've got to just keep it up!!

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL SUN SHINY TUESDAY MORNING!

But....it is sooo cold out!! It's 20 degrees out.. Brrrr.. But, that's okay.. as I love looking out my windows and seeing the gorgeous blue sky and sun shine out there, no matter if it's warm or cold out.. There's just something about seeing the blue sky and sunshine that makes a beautiful start to my day! ♥

I've got a few errands to run today AFTER I go to my weight watcher's meeting! I've kinda sorta been on good behavior this past week.. I have been watching my portion sizes and paid more attention to what I've been eating all week.. I've not had any of my favorite snacks, other than the weight watcher ones.. Thank goodness I had those!! I do have to get back into tracking of what I eat and write it in my journal.. I've been slipping up on doing that lately.. I am hoping for a weight loss no matter how small it might be..

Good Monday Morning!

Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a real good weekend! We didn't do much at all Saturday. We went to church on Sunday and then we met Daniel for supper at Olive Garden. Daniel has his Air Force once a month duty weekend the first weekend of each month, so instead of having lunch together after church, we had supper together. I'm just glad that we all could be together and spend a little time with each other. I really look forward to doing that with all my kids, as it means a whole bunch when we are able to be together..

My hubby is back to work again.. which started last evening. He had to be on his job at 4am this morning, so he left last evening around 11pm. I hope working in the damp and cold weather doesn't cause him to have a set back. He works with drilling wells.. He definately doesn't need to come down sick again! He's still on his antibiotic.. He has about 3 more days to take it.. We thought that he was getting stuffed up Sat. and that this could be starting all over.. but he woke up yesterday feeling fine.. which was wonderful!

The weatherman is saying that we are to get 2-4 inches of snow today... I'm sooo not ready for more snow, but... (shrugging my shoulders).  So far it looks like places North of us are getting a bunch of snow. We're suppose to have it arrive here around noon or so.. Can't say I'm looking forward to having more of it.. another winter wonderland, so to speak! **One nice thing about it though, is, that it really is so neat to watch the snowflakes falling from the sky and it does make for a gorgeous winter painting outside on the trees and everything! God does do beautiful work..and, in ALL things he creates! Even the snow!

I'd like you all to please say prayers for Shauna, Penny, Deena and Lillie Mae's father who is having chemo and radiation. Thank you so much!

So anyhow, I'm now contemplating  where I'd like to be in 10 years... Hmmm..Let me see here..
 
Gosh 10 years isn't all that far away from now.. especially for me nowadays!  Let's see....In 10 years I'd like to have even a much closer walk with Christ than what I could ever begin to imagine. I'd like to know everything there is to know about being a Christian, and to read my BIBLE more, lots more than what I do now.. I'd like to become more active within our church, meet new people... I have often thought that I'd like to be part of a Missionary group going to different places and spreading the word.. I've had a deep desire in my heart to do something like that for a while now, but haven't checked  into any further.. Hopefully I will, say, within the next 10 years and have it become a true reality..
 
Ten years from now I hope that my Health is still good, that my Memory is still good, and that I'm still able to walk, and live in my own home and care for it. I also hope that my husband and I will still find the time for each other as we now do and still have our date nights that we set aside for each other during the week..
 
I would still love to be able to have my Mustang! I love it, and still will in 10 years, I'm quite sure of that!! I just hope my left knee will allow me to keep driving it, as it's a standard shift.. I've been having problems with my left knee off and on for sometime now, and I find that sometimes when I drive my Mustang it aggravates it more.. I usually drive it once or twice during the week and my husband drives it on Sunday's to Church sometimes..
 
I would love to still have my BLOG and to come here and visit my friends in Blogland.. and have them visit with me too!  I just started my blog about a month ago and have made such wonderful friends... There is no way that I'd want to NOT still have my BLOG in 10 years! You all keep me in your prayers that I'll still have it all together in 10 years!!

I'll Be Traveling The Friendly Skies In Just A Few Weeks!!

Good Morning!
I am sooo totally excited!! I purchased my airline tickets to go to Phoenix, Arizona in just a few weeks from now!! Our daughter Michele, is staying and working there as a traveling nurse. My son Jamie, lives in California, but will be flying to Phoenix in a few weeks, sooo, all of us had talked earlier and had decided that it'd be nice if Dan & I would fly out to Phoenix too, for a visit with both of our kids going to be there, but now, it's just me going out. Since Dan has been sick for these past couple weeks, he said he wouldn't feel right asking his boss to have a couple vacation weeks off in just a few weeks or so from now, so.... Dan suggested that just I go, and, needless to say, he didn't have to say that twice to me!! For once I was actually really hearing what was being said!! (Daniel, Michele and Jamie have always said that I have selective hearing!!) ;) But anyhow, neither one of us has seen Michele nor Jamie since our last trip out to California this past June. That's been quite awhile ago, that's for sure! So, as I've already mentioned, I am sooo totally excited to be able to see our two kids again!! I really do wish that Dan could go too, but I do agree with his reasoning as to why he shouldn't. Also with him slowly getting over being sick, is another reason why he really shouldn't be out and about, and especially being onboard an airplane.. I'm praying that I don't catch anything too while flying on mine!

Lynn's Easy Chicken Veggie Soup

Hi!
I just had to share my own recipe with you for Chicken Veggie Soup that I made today for Dan's and my supper. Oh my goodness, it turned out soo good!!

Lynn's Easy Chicken Veggie Soup

2- 14.5oz. Del Monte Diced Tomatoes with green peppers & onions
1- 15oz. Del Monte Sweet Peas (drained)
1- 151/4oz. Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn (drained)
1- 141/2oz. Del Monte French Style Green Beans (drained)
1- 32oz. 100% Fat Free Swanson Chicken Broth
1- 8oz. Frozen Chicken Fajitas package
3- Reduced Sodium Chicken Bouillon Cubes
1- Bay Leaf (Placed ontop of all ingredients)
Salt, seasoned pepper, and cilantro leaves (I use McCormick brand of Cilantro Leaves)
1- medium yellow onion (chopped)
1 1/2 - 2 TBSP. Butter
6-8 Med. Red Potatoes

In crockpot add everything except for bay leaf, salt, pepper, cilantro leaves, onion, butter, potatoes.. Set crock pot on high temperature..

In small fry pan add butter and chopped onions. Saute onions on medium heat. Then add buttered sauted onions to the crockpot ingredients. Then pare,and dice the red potatoes and place potatoes in a medium saucepan covered with a little salted water ontop of stove and cook till tender. Then drain the potatoes and place them inside the crockpot with all the other ingredients. Then add salt, pepper, and cilantro leaves to your particular taste..(or leave Cilantro leaves out if you'd like) Then place bay leaf ontop of everything.. Cook on high temperature in crockpot for 3-4 hours. This makes approx. 6-8 servings.

Oh My Goodness... It's Tuesday and We All Know What That Means To Lynn!!

Good Morning!
Oh yeah, we all know what that means to Lynn!! Weigh in day at weight watchers!! Oh noooooooo...
Again I've had a real bad week for eating, and I don't think I've so much as lost an ounce.. Gosh, what am I going to do?? I know what I'll do, I'll just quit going to buy groceries!! Let my Hubby go instead! No, that'd never work, as he likes his snackie items more than I do! I've got to just get more disciplined!! No more snacks inside the house anymore except for popcorn! Think that'd work?? I'd be sure to have on hand plenty of carrots, apples, yogurt, bananas, salad makings to eat, that I know are more healthier choices. I just know I've got to do something!! I want to lose weight, not gain weight!! I made it to lifetimers at weight watcher's not so long ago, so I know it really does work! Please keep your fingers crossed for me this week, okay? And please say a little prayer for me to become more disciplined too.. Thank you!

Dan did go to the dr's yesterday. They have him on amoxicillin, that he takes for ten days. It's like 875mg. That's a bunch of mg's, and ought to really be able to knock this out of him like real fast!! At least we are hoping that it will! He's also using a cool vaporizer in our bedroom, which I think is also helping. I think he slept alot better last night than he did the couple nights before, which is great.. Thank you for keeping Dan in your prayers. You all are such wonderful friends!

I haven't heard yet how Penny's surgery went. I pray that all went well. I'll be keeping her in my prayers, as well as Shauna, Becky, Deena, Michele, Jamie, and my hubby..

I received my package of goodies that I won from Donna, from one simple country girl! She is so sweet and so very kind! The Wildberries tart cake candle smells absolutely wonderful!! The 3 heart bowl fillers are real cute with their buttons and rusty small bells! The heart shaped plaques are beautiful! Donna sent me another heart plaque that has a red,white and blue flag, red barn,salt box house, willow tree & darling sheep painted on it.. That was so sweet of her to send that to me too! I love the rose note cards she sent, as roses are my most favorite flower and the candies Donna sent all smell and look soo delish! I will be sure to share pictures when I have everything right where I want it all to be in it's new home! I do have some ideas as to where I want everything! So, it shouldn't take me real long to share some pictures with you! Thank you sooo much Donna for everything!! I love it all!! I am so lucky that my name was the one drawn in your beautiful giveaway!!

Hope you all are staying safe and warm! We still have lots of snow here.. Can't wait till it's all gone! Really, I can't wait to see green grass again!! Oh, I forgot... today is Ground Hog Day! I wonder if Punsutawney Phil saw his shadow back there in Pennsylvania?? (My Home State) I will have to go check and see!!

**Well I guess Punsutawney Phil did see his shadow this morning, and that is suppose to mean that winter will last us for another 6 weeks.. Between you and me, I think it most always lasts us that long anyhow, but don't let Punsutawney Phil or his friends know that I told you that!! ;)

Did I Hear Somebody Say It Was Monday Already??

Good Morning!
Please have Penny in your prayers today. She is having cancer surgery today, which will be taking around 12 hours today.. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, as I will be..

Hard to believe that it is Monday already! Where did the weekend go?? We didn't do anything this weekend because, #1, Dan was sick, #2,the weather was bad out, #3 just wanted to stay inside where it was comfy, safe and warm!

Dan has a dr's appointment today. He has had head congestion both yesterday and today..and hasn't been sleeping very well during the night these past couple nights.. I told him that a visit to the dr's might just be the right next step to take.. I am so thankful that our dr's office is only a block away from us! I really do think that Dan needs something to help with whatever this is that he has, and to work at getting it right out of his system! The dr. probably will give him an antibiotic to help get him feeling better, I'd imagine.. I don't know if he'd prescribe a z pack or not.. We shall see! We both just want him to feel like his ol self once again!
