I sure hope we don't get any real accumulation of snow.. I don't like my hubby nor my son out there driving to and from their work on bad streets and interstates.. even though I know they are being ever so careful, it still makes me nervous knowing they're driving on them.. I am so blessed that I am able to stay at home.. Times like this is when I really don't mind at all being retired.. and not having to drive on bad streets and interstates like I did for 10 years when I worked with the school district.. There were many times I wondered if I'd make it home.. My work was about a half hour drive from here and I drove that two times going to work and two times coming back home, which made me around 100 miles per day that I put on our little Toyota, Corolla.. I can't complain one bit, as I loved my job and really loved everyone that I worked with! They all were like my family! I've been retired from my job for the past 5 years.. But, all in all, it does seem so nice not having to go out in weather like this, especially if I don't have to, that's for sure!
I hope it isn't real bad where you are... I bet you are looking forward to SPRING as well as I am! I love the warmer weather compared to having all the cold weather... When we first moved here, I wasn't aware that they got cold weather and sometimes snow and ice too... Thanks Jamie for not warning your Ma before she moved here young man! He told me that if he would have told me that, that I probably wouldn't have wanted to move here from Pa., but... I really doubt if it would have made any difference really, being that he and his family lived here... as that was one of my main reasons for wanting to move here, being closer to our granddaughter.. The other was.... the weather! The summer weather here seems to outlast ours back in Pa. and I loved that! That meant that I'd get to enjoy my roses and other favorite flowers all that much longer!! WaHoo!! Ummm, Jamie didn't tell me about this being right in Tornado alley either! That probably would have made me stay in Pa. if he had of.. Doubtful but just ~MAYBE~ But, There Again... he knew that! But, boy, did I ever find out fast about them and how serious they take their falling rain here!! We were in the May 3rd tornado that went through here back in 1999, I think it was. We lost our car, and so did everyone else lose their's at the Westmoore High School parking lot that night.. I'll save the rest of that story for another time... I promise..
You all take care now, and I'm sorry for just rambling on and on, but, sometimes I just seem to do that.. ;)
Thanks ever so much for stopping by... I enjoy reading all the wonderful comments you leave for me.. Thank you all so much! Please keep in your prayers all the families of the people who were killed in Az.. and pray that the other people who were shot may recover from their wounds..
Blessings,
~Lynn

Hi Lynn, Your home looks so pretty in the snow and I love your car! I guess this moisture will be good for your rose bushes. We have about 6" snow here which is extremely rare for us and now it is sleeting. Roads @ Atlanta are impassable. Thankfully, we have what we need and will not have to get out. Praying your family will be safe as they travel to and from work. Always a joy to visit with you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI like snow Lynn and that is a good thing as right now we have tons of it. We received 2 feet on the weekend and like you I am happy I am retired so I don't have to drive in it. Stay safe and warm my friend.....:-)Hugs
ReplyDeleteHey Lynn, it is not too bad where we are in Texas (Houston)....just cold. Staying in and drinking HOT CHOCOLATE !!
ReplyDeleteHope your snow melts soon and that you can get to life as normal. I have family in ATLANTA..and they are snow and ICE bround they tell me.
LOVE your Rose border.

: ) This too shall pass! Your pictures are sure pretty and look at that nice wood stove you have burning over here on the left to keep us all warm.
ReplyDeleteWe got six inches today, our first of the year but here in Kansas City we are used to it and just buck up. Even though school was cancelled I still had to go to the office!
It will hopefully be gone before its too brown and we are sick of it!
Hi Lynn - Thank you for stopping my my blog and leaving me a comment so I could follow you here. I see you are a new fellow Okie! I hated it when we first moved here many years ago. What I hated were the hot, humid summers!!! I followed your side-bar to Stacy. She really touched my heart because we are currently walking through that battlefield with our daughter.
ReplyDeleteI trust you will visit often and we can get to know each other better. Happy New Year!
Mildred, Thank You so much! We are having some sunshine today, but, ohhhhh it is soooo cold and a bit windy outside! It's 17* out and with the windchill factor, that makes it feel like 2*.. Brrrrrrrr!! The good thing is that all the falling snow that was coming down yesterday is gone! We didn't get any accumulation, which was really great! I hope that the weather gets alot better your way real soon too! Praying that you and your family stay safe and warm Mildred.. Take care and thank you so much for leaving me such a kind comment! I always love for you to come by and visit!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
~Lynn

ReplyDeleteIt's cold here today too.. It's 17* with a windchill factor of 2*.. Sooo cold!! Our little accumulation of snow is all gone now, which is great!
Have a great Tuesday!

Merrie, Thank You! Hopefully your snow won't last too long for you either! Stay safe and warm, and especially if you have to be out and about..

Susan, Thank You and Happy New Year to you and your family too! I've got to admit thatI'm not a brand new Okie, since we moved here back in 1996.. but, I find myself still trying to get used to living here.. I'm originally from Northwestern Pennsylvania.. born and raised there..
ReplyDeleteI will have your daughter, along with Stacy in my daily prayers Susan.
Blessings,
~Lynn
Your photos of your snow fall are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is so cold here and we have about 16-18". It will be a while before ours is gone.
I drove in to work and it was very slow going and very icy.
The sun is out now and we are up to 4*.WOW. We are going to be -13 tonight. I am sure ready for warm weather.
