~A HEART TOUCHING VIDEO~

~Two Of The Many Soldiers Who Are Away From Their Family and Love Ones At Christmas~

Good Morning All,
I'm just sitting here with my morning cup of Christmas Blend coffee that I bought the buy one bag of Christmas Blend coffee, and get another bag free from Starbucks the other day, and just came across a very heart touching video about our military troops who are so far away from home during the holidays.. I thought that I'd share..  My son Daniel has shared with his Dad and I on how it was for him over in Iraq while he was there.. I just couldn't even begin to imagine how it'd be... I lived in Germany for 15 months, without many friends and no other family, except for my daughter Michele who was 3 at the time and my ex who was stationed in the Army. No where did I have any of the conditions and surroundings that our military troops face each and every day, and it was still quite hard for me.. I got down..and real depressed, especially on holidays, Holiday's which was normally shared with our family and love ones.. My heart and prayers goes out to all of our military soldiers! Thank you all so very much for all that you've already done and still are doing for my freedom and my country! I wish you all a very blessed Christmas...and for God to keep each and every one of you safe and bring you all safely back home real soon, back home to your family and love ones.

Have a wonderful day! I'm going to continue on with doing my Christmas decorating today... I'll share pictures once I have it all done, I promise~

~Gettin' There!~ Slowly But Surely!~

Good Morning!
How was your weekend? Was it busy with doing your Christmas shopping, or... like me, doing my house hold cleaning? I got our laundry all done, and my livingroom vacuumed, dusted and rearranged so that I can put our tree up in front of our livingroom window like I had hoped to do this year.. since it's been years since we've had it there. I had to move the furniture around all by myself,(thank goodness it isn't real heavy!) as my hubby was out of town and our son Daniel had his military weekend this past weekend, soooo.... I just moved a little at a time, and it worked out good! I didn't over do at all! That's saying a bunch for me! I usually overdo big time! I've learned how to pace myself anymore!! Not worth the aches and pains for me to overdo, that's for sure! I just had to face the facts, that I'm not that energized Super Mom that I used to be just a few years ago! Ha!

I still have a few more presents to buy, but that's okay.. It won't take me long...I don't have my Christmas tree up yet, but hope to do so here before too long! I have 3 trees and haven't really decided as to what one I want to put up...  I'll probably put up our 6' slim tree...
I have a few pictures I'd like to share....
~This is our small Christmas Tree Centerpiece..~

~A few Christmas throw pillows~

~I really like this one with the two snowmen and Christmas tree~

~Our front door with wreath and icicle lights along porch roof...~ (My Hubby put the lights up a week or two ago...)

This is some Christmas decorating that one of my neighbor's has done on his home and yard... It looks sooo very pretty!

Sorry about the pictures... I'm still learning how to take and share pictures on my blog... I still have alot more to learn about how to, that's for sure! But, just wanted to give you an idea of what I've got done so far... See, it really does take me like forever!! I'm hoping to get some more Christmas decorating done today.. and maybe even wrapping some presents today too!

You all have a wonderful day! Thank you for stopping by!

Blessings,

~A Walk In My Shoes~

This looks like a real good movie to watch on NBC tonight..

http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid684418807001?bctid=673559557001

I like watching family movies.. the ones that always seems to touch the heart.. the ones that have a good story line to them..

This is last years Christmas Tree...

This is last year kids stockings up.. They'll be going there again this year too!
Hope everyone isn't getting too pooped out from doing all their Christmas shopping, decorating and all! I've gone shopping three straight days in a row here, for like several hours each day and probably will do some more of the same today! Will I ever get it all done!?? I don't even have our Christmas tree up and decorated yet!! The older I get, the slower my body moves, so it seems to me anyhow! Seems like it takes me forever to do anything anymore! But, I am getting closer to having my shopping all done, which is really a good thing! Once I have everybody all bought, I'll then be able to concentrate on decorating my rooms with my Christmasy figurines and decor and get our tree up and decorated.. It won't take me all that long I don't think, but,  just the way I feel today...it just might though! Ha!! I've learned to just take it slow and do what I can... and then continue on with it the next day! It'll still be there waiting! This goes for anything that I need to do! I think it took me 3 days last year to decorate our tree! (It's a slim Christmas tree that's 6 1/2-7' tall) I took my time and it really turned out pretty...

Oh, I almost forgot... I got me some of the Christmas Blend coffee from Starbucks yesterday, and it is sooo very delish!! They had a deal of buy one pound, get one free! I hope all you Starbucks fans were able to get in on their fantastic deal!

Have a really wonderful day and great weekend too!

Blessings,
~Lynn

~World Aids Day~

Today is World Aids Day. I hope you will take a moment to join me in remembering those people touched by this disease… and for those who are working towards a cure.

Jamie and his friend Keri before the ride started!

Jamie & Keri before they took off...

Jamie's off and pedaling!!  :)

We were traveling Jamie's route in the car ... In this picture, I rolled my window down and said "Keep Up The Great Work Jamie!" I felt so bad passing him by, but...

Jamie's bike

WOW!! Bikes parked as far as one's eyes could see!!

All Rightie!! Here they come!! This was Jamie and Keri's final turn!!!!  Jamie's the one in the back... Boy did I ever have my plastic pom pom's shaking in both hands while portraying a huge smile on my face when I saw them on this turn!!

Jamie and Mom at one of their rest stops!
My son Jamie rode his bike from San Francisco to L.A. which was a 545 mile long trip, that he took along with many thousands of other bicyclists! He rode for the AIDS/LIFECYCLE  in 2008 and in 2009..  We were and still are real proud of him for his part in doing this..  I wasn't able to cheer him in on his last turn of his ride in 2008, but I sure was there to cheer him in his final turn, in 2009! This Mom was, and still is, so very proud of what he has accomplished!! Thank you Jamie and to all the other bicyclists who made this trek along with you!!

Have a wonderful day, and thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me!

~Help Wanted~

Busy Laundry Day!!

I was just thinking of how nice it would be to have a helper on certain days... Like, laundry day, or  house cleaning day! Have you ever felt like that lately sometimes too?
It brings forth a treasured memory to my mind...

I remember back when our daughter Michele was always such a big helper for Mom, even when she was little But, in her early to mid teens,  she'd run the vaccum sweeper and do the dusting of furnitures for me,  even sometimes make supper for us on any given night that she wanted to surprise me when I got home from work..  I sure do miss having those together/closeness times nowadays!! Don't get me wrong, my hubby is such a real big helper when it comes to doing things around the house with and for me.. but, I just miss the together/closeness times that me and my daughter shared back close to 30 some years ago now.. If only we could stop time, just for a little while to savor more of that together here and now time when we are together! She's now grown into a beautiful young woman...  taking care of her own home and all...  I love to think back to when all of my kids were younger and on the times that we've shared and still are sharing together.. Precious times and precious memories alike!
Have a wonderful day! Thank you so much for visiting, and I always love and enjoy reading your comments that you leave for me!

Blessings,
~Lynn

1) Do you sleep with your closet door open or closed?? I always sleep with them closed!! For sure!!!

2)Do you take shampoo and conditioner from Hotels?? Yes, I have been known to do that.. But, I don't   nowadays since my skin is so dry and very sensitive to the soaps and lotions that I use.. I usually just bring my own in small traveling bottles..

3) Do you sleep with the sheets tucked in?? NO Way!... I've got to be able to move around and kick them off when I want or need to... One just never knows when a  Hot Flash will consume them!!

4)Have you ever stolen a street sign?? No.....

5) Do you use post it notes?.... Big time user!!

9) Have you ever peed in the woods??  Not that I recall.. of course I haven't given it a whole bunch of thought here...

I was overseas in Germany for 15 months and came back home and picked right up where I left off pretty much... Didn't have tv for those 15 months either, and really didn't miss tv all that much.. Listened to the radio a bunch while over there though..

16) Do you think musicals are cheesy?? No, but I really don't like watching them all that much..but have watched some over the years.. Guess it all depends on what the musical is about!

~My New Found Items!~

Hello! Yesterday my Hubby and I went to Church, and then we went to Hefner Grill for lunch, and then we stopped at a real neat vintage antique shop called Feathered Nest Market.. We enjoyed looking at everything! I found me a real nice wrought iron cookbook holder and 4 beautiful silver napkin rings...
Cookbook holder holding one of my favorite cookbooks!

I fell in love with the style of this! I might paint it black, just as the first picture looks like it is!

I have all these cookbooks that can sit in my cookbook recipe holder!

I have these three too!!
Plus a whole bunch more cookbooks!!
One just might possibly think that I actually really enjoy cooking and baking!! Boy do I have them fooled! Just kidding! :)

I'm sharing a picture of a couple of my cloth napkins that I got with Jamie at the World Market in Oakland,  California when I was visiting him and Michele this past Aug/Sept.. There are 6 red napkins and 6 green napkins.  The silver napkin rings I got at this vintage shop! The leaf and grape design on them are real pretty! Wish I could get a better picture of them for you to see the design better..!

Have a good evening!

Blessings,
~Lynn

~Ouch!! ~

Good Morning..
This morning I was down at the hospital to get a couple viles of blood drawn for my next Dr's appointment that I have this coming Monday.. My Dr. has all those different things that he's checking and keeping track of, like my potassium level, etc..

It only took 20 minutes from the time I got inside of the hospital until I was back on my way home again, so that's not too bad timewise at all!

Our son Daniel, Dan and I all went walking for 30 minutes last evening. Well, Dan and I walked, while Daniel mostly ran and jogged... It was definately a workout for all of us, as we did most of our walking with the wind in our faces! I must say that this walking really seems to be making me feel more "energized" so to speak! My body seems to feel so much better since I've been walking with the guys.. Walking can be a real good thing for one to do! It also helps with my weight watcher activity points. I earn 2 activity points for walking for 30 minutes! Yes, I can handle that!! I've found that I haven't used the activity points that I earned for that day, which is good too! That'll help me a bunch with my weight loss area! We are planning on walking this Friday, weather permitting..  I soooo want to get back to my goal weight!! Having to lose all those pounds that I've already lost the first time when I was reaching towards my goal weight is a total bummer for sure, but... guess there's no other way getting around it, other than just getting it done, once again!! Hopefully this will be the last time I have to relose these same pounds that I gained back over again!!

Not sure what's on my agenda for the rest of my day here... Haven't thought that far ahead I guess..Oh, there's lots for me to do, and I wouldn't have to look very far, that's for sure! Always something in our home needs to be picked up, put away, or cleaned.. Never ending, so it seems!

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting today! Have a great day!

Blessings,
~Lynn
