Good Morning! Gosh, here it is, the sun is shining and the skies are soo blue and pretty, and it's in the low 50's. Not bad start of a day at all. Then tomorrow, we are supposed to have rain around 9am, and then around 2 or 3pm I guess it's suppose to turn to ice, then snow... I am so not looking forward to this ice/snow storm! The news channels has given everybody at least a two day warning to get prepaired for this storm.. I sure hope no body loses their electricity during this storm.. Our actual last really bad, ice storm that I recall was a bad one! It took some time to get all the tree limbs and debris cleared from all the areas that was hit real bad..
Our latest snow/ice storm happened Christmas day and continued for several days after.. but the really big ice storm I'm talking now about happened 9-10 years ago,and I was still working at the time.. One of the lady's I worked with was without her electricity for weeks... a very long time.. I don't know how she did it!! I think her and her husband did end up getting a generator, but, it was quite a while later, as there wasn't any generator's to be had before and when the ice storm actually hit! Every place was sold out of them! Then when they did get some in, there was a real long waiting list for them! I am so glad we have one.. as one just never knows when they'll need to have one for their use..
I don't like for anyone, and especially my family and love one's to have to be out there driving on the streets and highways when weather like this happens. It's just sooo much better to just stay home where one can be safe... I am so very glad that I don't work anymore. That was a long drive for me, and especially in bad weather, and the drive to my workplace was like 25 miles one way.. in which I traveled 4 times a day, which added up to 100 miles per day..as I worked with school bus transportation..
I will keep everyone in my prayers who are in the areas of this storm that is headed our way... It's coming from California, through Arizona, and into Oklahoma ( which they say is the bulls eye of the storm) and then into Arkansas.. It sounds to be pretty nasty of a storm, from what the weathermen are saying.. Everyone be and keep safe and take care..
I'm going to check and make sure I have everything I need before the storm heads my way.. Today's the day to get something if we need to, that's for sure!
Blessings,
~Lynn

Lynn~ That sounds bad. Maybe it will not be as bad as they are saying. We are suppose to some snow on Thursday night, but I do not know how much. The weather people around here tend to miss the mark a lot! I hope you get all that you need today. Stay warm and be careful! ~Dan~
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Dan! I sure hope that the storm isn't as bad as what they are now predicting..
ReplyDeleteYou have a good one too!

Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI hope this storm isn't as bad as they are saying it will be. Usually we get what y'all are having now a day or so behind you and they are calling for snow here on Friday so I guess that would be about right. We will just have to pray, I guess! I am sending out your goodies tomorrow! Yay!
Hugs,
Donna
Donna, Yes, we sure will need to say our prayers that it doesn't get super nasty out! You and your family stay safe and warm too..
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Donna, and I will let you know when I receive them! I am sooo excited still!!
Blessings,
~Lynn
I know what you mean. Ice storms can be so dangerous. Our home is total electric, so its bad when we lose power. We don't have a genorator yet, but hope to get one soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope the storm doesn't turn out to be too bad in your area. Take care!
